- What is a packing list?
- A packing list details each package in a shipment — what is inside, how many, the net and gross weight and the dimensions. Customs and the carrier use it to check the physical goods against the commercial invoice without opening everything.
- Do I need one to ship UK to EU?
- For anything more than a single parcel it is expected, especially for pallets and part loads. It travels with the commercial invoice and the transport document (CMR).
- What is the difference from the commercial invoice?
- The commercial invoice carries the values and HS codes for customs duty; the packing list carries the physical detail — packages, weights and dimensions. Together they let customs verify the shipment.
